@jasonandlaurenpak: Does your lower back hurt during ab exercises? You might blame it on a “weak” core or back, but oftentimes it has more to do with positioning. If your rib cage is flared up during ab exercises, your lower back is in a more sensitive position regardless of how weak or strong it is. In order to learn this ribs down position, it helps to start by laying on the floor. Get your rib cage down towards the floor by exhaling slowly and deeply. Once your rib cage and lower back are down, practice deep belly breaths in this position. This will actually feel difficult at first. But over time, you’ll be able to do this with your knees up, and eventually with your arms up, and finally with your arms and legs overhead. This builds awareness and strength progressively and will really help your core engage better during ab movements! We hope this video helped you out!
