@engineezy: If you can’t do it, engineer something that can. ••• After some iteration on the scoop design, I found a scoop profile that shoots the basketball with a consistent arc. To figure out how consistent it actually is, I added a ball hopper with a servo driven, automated ball distribution system. After adding a bit of Arduino code to run the hopper, all I had to do was hit a button and I was suddenly able to hit 11 shots in a row. ••• This is all prototyping for the final version of the sculpture, which is set to go into an art gallery for a basketball themed show. I still haven’t quite decided how I want to finish this off. If you have any suggestions, I would love to hear your thoughts! ••• #MarchMadness #basketball #basketballlovers #basketballart #engineering #engineerlife #engineered #mechanical #mechanicalengineering

two robots, and show the mechanism that reloads the hopper! also, maybe a scoreboard tracking the robot's points?

U should make the two robots shoot the ball in the reload part so it never stops

Make a few and program them to shoot one after another like a pendulum wave. they could sync up every minute or so.

Reload thought: make a pitched roof like arc in the center leading to the net with a slight downslope reloading the shooter 👍🏼

ridiculously cool! what if it shoots one way, drops from the net into the next mechanism to shoot back to the other net and back to the hopper?

Change the rim width so that it makes it in approx 50% of the time, then have two robots play against each other
