Question! So I have 4 hooves that I was originally trying to decompose for bones. But as they’ve just dried, and no hide was remove by larva, can I still throw them in salt to further dry them?

How long typically does this process take? I’ve got 4 deer hooves I started this method with two days ago, they look good so far, no rotting. Also do you use non iodized salt?
