Man I hate doing this at drs appts. I shouldn’t have to educate a Dr about something they’re specializing in. Unless it’s a new med that came out or is being tested; I’m a CPhT so I get that info alot

Like no other place than USA has this dumb no eating rule for people in labor. Most places you're encouraged to eat light foods for energy

As long as you have an overly litigious environment like the US I just can’t see them backing away from the fasting rules. Very glad I live in NZ.

I had a small amount of applesauce to take my meds 3 hourbefore my hysterectomy and they delayed it almost 2 hours and talked to me like I'm a child.

I told me husband after #1 I am eating before we go to the hospital and I did - many hours later I had a surprise c-section - so glad I ate!

my OB let me eat because my labor was slow. ended up w/ a crash c section under general anesthesia 2 hrs later but I survived!

my best friend just had a baby, in the US, and they let him eat! i was shocked and jealous, i had mine 5 years ago and wasn't allowed

When it came down to it for my emergency c they didn’t have time to care how much I ate that day. But usually I feel too anxious to eat in labour.
