Like no other place than USA has this dumb no eating rule for people in labor. Most places you're encouraged to eat light foods for energy

I told me husband after #1 I am eating before we go to the hospital and I did - many hours later I had a surprise c-section - so glad I ate!

my OB let me eat because my labor was slow. ended up w/ a crash c section under general anesthesia 2 hrs later but I survived!

I ate before both c-sections. One was an emergency CS. And one was supposed to be induction that Dr. and I decided should be a CS that morning

my best friend just had a baby, in the US, and they let him eat! i was shocked and jealous, i had mine 5 years ago and wasn't allowed
