@adampfau: SHOULDER PRESS CRITIQUE First mistake, being barefoot 🤮. If you don’t have proper shoes, being barefoot can be a good idea for certain exercises…but not shoulder press. As for the exercise, the first mistake is stopping at about 90 degrees. The lockout portion of the movement uses mostly triceps. Your shoulders are more engaged at the bottom half of the rep. If you’re stopping at parallel, you’re not fully stimulating your shoulders. Instead, bring the dumbbells below parallel, if you can do so safely. Second, which isn’t a big deal, is hitting the dumbbells together at the top. Although it feels good to hit the dumbbells at the top, it doesn’t actually add any benefit and can potentially throw your set off.
