Simply, crack an egg open and take a look at the germinal spot: 🥚Unfertilized: tight, pinhead-looking dot 🥚Fertilized: wider, bullseye pattern Does this make a difference when it comes to eating them? Nope! Both fertilized and unfertilized eggs are edible and there is no nutritional difference. I know it might feel weird at first to eat fertilized eggs, but unless they’ve been heated at a steady 99.5 degrees for at least 24 hours, there won’t be any sort of development. Knowing how to spot fertile eggs is very important if you plan to incubate your eggs! Each morning, make note of what % of your eggs are fertile when you’re making breakfast.
