@madisonclysdale: Outdoorsy eco-friendly swaps ⤵️ To celebrate Earth Month here are some of the eco-friendly swaps I try to implement (not just for earth month). Instead of store-bought granola bars try making your own from bulk ingredients eliminating single use packaging. (These date squares are so good). And reusable ziplock bags are lightweight for hiking and you can add boiling water to them for camp meals. Mine are @stasherbags Choose mineral based sunscreen instead of chemical if you'll be in any natural bodies of water. It should say mineral based on the packaging. Most chemical based sunscreens are harmful to wildlife and eco-systems. Repair and clean your winter gear before storing for the season to preserve the lifespan. Dirt and salt can deteriorate your boots, gear and outerwear overtime.
