Saat itu, keluhan tersebut masih dianggap sebagai kondisi yang biasa. Kemudian, pada 28 Desember 2022, saat sedang menjalani aktivitas siaran radio, kondisinya tiba tiba memburuk. Ia pergi ke kamar mandi, lalu ditemukan dalam keadaan tidak sadarkan diri. Melihat kondisi tersebut, Indra Bekti langsung dilarikan ke rumah sakit untuk mendapatkan pemeriksaan lebih lanjut. Setelah menjalani pemeriksaan, dokter menemukan adanya perdarahan di otak akibat pecah pembuluh darah. Karena kondisinya serius, ia kemudian harus menjalani operasi dan mendapatkan perawatan intensif. Dalam proses penanganannya, dokter juga menggunakan ventriculoperitoneal atau VP shunt. Alat ini berupa selang yang membantu mengalirkan cairan serebrospinal berlebih dari dalam kepala menuju rongga perut, sehingga membantu mengendalikan tekanan di dalam kepala. Rangkaian kejadian ini menjadi pengingat bahwa hipertensi yang tidak terkontrol dapat meningkatkan risiko komplikasi pada pembuluh darah dan otak. Karena itu, jangan abaikan pusing atau sakit kepala yang terasa tidak biasa.
