Cast Iron Chaos :
Actually, you can use soap on cast-iron pans. The maker of the pan, Lodge Cast Iron, agrees.

If it’s seasoned right you should be able to use soap every once in a while without needing to reseason it

Current soaps are more cast iron safe than the lye-based soaps from grandma’s time. Just use a tiny amount.

You can 100% use soap. It won’t strip the seasoning.

Definitely re- season it before applying the oil after that scrubber! Should be silicone/non-abrassive! (From my chef bf) But other then that nice!

You don’t even have to dry it up. You can put it on the stove and heat it up until the water evaporates. Super awesome pan!!

Grapeseed oil is a great oil to use for cast iron as well, due to its FANTASTICAL HIGH smoke point.

OLD cast iron that’s well seasoned can also go into fire coals. That’s how my granny used to clean hers, and then she would oil it
