But that plan is mostly about who you need to connect with, what you need to learn, what needs to be achieved - that kind of stuff. What I want to offer is in addition to focusing on WHAT you need to accomplish, also focus on WHO you want to be … meaning what kind of leadership strategies do you want to focus on in the first 90 days? Here are three strategies you may not have considered #1: A LEADER WHO DOESN’T OVERWORK It’s really easy to fall into the “I need to prove myself trap” when you first start a new job or task… Instead, remind yourself you’re already good enough for this job - and remember you’ve got lots of time to demonstrate your value… you don’t have to do it all in 3 months. #2: A LEADER WHO DOESN’T JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS People are going to tell you all kinds of things when you start a new gig. Seek to understand, but not to judge. If you jump to conclusions too quickly, you may miss critical insights or knowledge that could help someone grow, or even save the company money. #3: A LEADER WHO PUTS PEOPLE FIRST Everyone is going to want a piece of you when you first start. They’re going to invite you to a lot of meetings “just to learn”.
