@cleanthatup: Day 17/30 in our Spring Cleaning Spree and we are washing our Memory Foam and Down Alternative Pillows! Pro Tip!! Please, Please, PLEASE, always check your tags on pillows (and mattresses!) for care instructions before trying any cleaning techniques. These are my processes that have worked for me, but manufacturers know exactly what materials are inside their products and know how to care for them best. I highly suggest using protective pillow covers to give them an extra defense against staining, and hopefully save you some time once you do decide to clean them. Another important tip, is to always make sure you put your pillows in the washer in a way that will keep it balanced. We’ve all been there, where all of a sudden you’re in another room and your startled by the sound of your washer sounding like it’s about to rumble off to the moon! This happens when heavy items become uneven in the washer barrel, so try your best to distribute the weight evenly. Just like the mattress, this is a great task to do right away in the morning so you’re not left without a pillow once it’s bedtime.
