or skip all that and use the Adobe Capture app (shape mode) on your phone and it auto does it all. Saves it on the cloud and you can open it in AI

Pro tip: Turn “snap curves to lines” off, also you can reduce ‘noise’ for better paths 👍

I always preprocess in Photoshop these days. bump the ppi 300 put what you want on a black background and sometimes even tweak the colors
