@axeandroothomestead: What do you do when parts of your pasture are ready but others are still growing in? Divide. Just like you would in full-throttle rotational grazing, you can segregate pastures for growing and others for browsing. Why graze at all? Because we don’t want any forage to develop seed heads. We want it to focus on growth and regeneration, just like we would when lawn mowing. If it’s allowed to go to seed, the grass’s energy goes to reproduction, rather than growth.
