ya sure the crank bearing clearances and ring gaps are right could be binding somewhere. or you don't have enough crank amps to turn it properly

My 400 ford did this the rear cam bearing wasn’t installed right…. Causing restraint on starter but of torques on nose of crank was normal

timing is off... valves are trapping the compression to where its too much to turn... cam needs turned a couple degrees

gm often used shims on the starter to space it from the flywheel. if too tight then it binds when engaging.

You would nearly think the starter wasn’t fully meeting the ring gear or binding on ring gear 😳 did the starter fix the problem ?

were the rings measured at top and bottom of the cylinder .try adjusting the exhaust valves first .lol are the pistons facing the right way for divot?

You need to do a voltage drop test on your battery connections/cables and check the battery.

just hit the starter. if it starts than you need a New one. if not then it's a diverent problem. whats chrisfix on youtube it really helpt.
