@babykittenrescue: Long reign Helmet Queen Milly👑🌟 Otter and Milly have different congenital brain abnormalities, but both needed a helmet to protect their noggins💕 Otter had a meningoencephalocele, meaning part of his brain protruded from a hole in his skull. He had a successful corrective surgery, and he now has a titanium skull and no longer has to wear a helmet💪 He never experienced any neurological symptoms. Milly has hydrocephalus, meaning there is too much cerebrospinal fluid in her brain. This excess fluid causes pressure on her brain which causes neurological symptoms like ataxia (uncoordinated movements) and tremors (involuntary shaking). Because there’s already so much pressure on her brain, it could be devastating if she hit her head on something hard.
