It is a time to reflect on the horrors of the past and the impact it has had on families and communities around the world. For me, this day holds a special significance because it had a direct impact on my family. My grandfather was among those who never had the chance to meet his own grandparents because they were among the millions of Jews who were targeted and murdered, simply because of their religious beliefs. Today, it is crucial that we stand up against antisemitism and all forms of discrimination and hate, wherever they may be found. By educating future generations about acceptance, tolerance, and the value of human life, we can ensure that such atrocities are never repeated. May we never forget the millions of innocent lives lost during the Holocaust, and may we work together to build a better world, free from hatred and bigotry.
