It opens with a burst of star anise, warmed significantly by pink pepper and suede. It quickly moves into its heart notes, where the tonka bean is absolutely the star of the show, though elevated by the syrupy gourmand of the rum absolute and the spicy-sweetness of clove. It dries down into a beautiful, exotic sandalwood & a hint of musk, but the previous notes really give it depth and a certain powdery yet spicy-sweet quality. Excellent sillage and performance, and in my opinion, a safe blind buy for both men and women. Comes in a very sturdy bottle with a black metal cap that clicks on so you can pick it up by the cap without losing the bottle on the floor. You get a generous 3.3 fl oz for $150.
