@myrmeco.files: #Trophallaxis is the method ants use to feed their queen, larvae & other workers. They do this by opening their mandibles and pressing their mouth parts together. Then one ant regurgitates some food while the other consumes it. This does not take away nourishment from the ant that is giving food because ants have two stomachs. One is for their own body's nourishment & the other, called a "social stomach", is used to store food meant to be shared amongst the colony.
