It should be a 4 year apprenticeship. More hands on as the course goes on. Theory does not nearly enough as exposure.

I think one year of theory and then three years with three different high quality classroom teachers. You would learn so much more!

I had 32 weeks from my uni, and I still had a meltdown before starting my first job because I felt like I knew NOTHING

Agree! To teach is a verb. It is an action and uni is not practical enough.

I’m 44 and going through uni now. We do about double the time you did now. But it’s still not enough. Quoting Piaget, Bybee and Bloom will not help!

I am a Behaviour TA in a state school, and a 3rd year preservice teacher. I don't think Uni prepares anyone. It's all how well you can rewrite texts.

100% I really hope they change the degree in the future. I'm about to graduate and the only reason I'm ready is bc I've been TAing for a year.

LITERALLY!! Even studying to be a Teacher Aide, they don’t really teach you how to be an Aide, you only learn on your pracs and getting into the class

40 weeks unpaid work at Notre dame after 4 years, there needs to be a middle ground. 10 week pracs are financially unsustainable, how do I pay rent?
