They 4.6 and 5.4 only have two problems spark plugs and timing chain and guides. Typicaly 300k mileage engines

100% oil changes are key. lots of idle time kills them quick also from low oil pressure at idle.

I have a 2001 Ford 350 s d van with a 5.4 it has 370.000 plus miles. pull boats trailer with tractor. never had them problems.

It is important to keep the 6.5 quarts of synthetical because the phasers or should I say, timing needs the oil
