@dawson.diy: NOT to install drywall ☠️ This was my first time installing a ceiling and I thought it was a little weird that I was needing to add so many extra supports, but it didn’t hit me until a few days later just how badly I had messed it all up. All the new supports I’ve added on the seams really tightened everything up and I think it’ll be ok, but yikes friends … mozzarella level 8 🧀 Silver lining: Now I know the right way to install the rest of the drywall in the garage 😂 #diyproject #that70sreno #drywall #diyfail

You should connect those pieces of wood to the a framing

Good idea but make sure to attach the “scabs” to the support. Take a scrap 2x4 to attach to the rafter. Then angle a couple screws into the plywood

I would have just cut it short to go to the nearest rafter. You’ll be able to use the other piece somewhere else most of the time.
