@cookinginthemidwest: Onion Blossoms are easy and delicious to make at home!🔥 Recipe 1 onion 1 egg 1 cup milk 1 1/2 cups flour 1 1/2 tsp each of salt and cayenne pepper 1/2 tsp each of black pepper, dried oregano, dried thyme, and cumin Steps -Slice the end off of the onion (leaving onion stem in place) -Use knife guard to slice onion. -Combine flour and all seasonings in the Better Breader Bowl. -Place cut onion in the Breader Bowl and shake to get it coated in flour. -Pour flour into a different bowl and whisk together egg and milk inside the Breader Bowl. -Put the onion blossom back in the Breader Bowl and shake around to get it coated in the egg/milk mixture. -Pour out the egg/milk mixture and add the flour mixture back to the Breader Bowl. -Add onion to the flour/seasoning mixture and shake to get it well coated in the flour and seasoning. -Deep fry at 375 degrees for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown. TIP - in between each step in the breading process gently spread back the onion petals so they can be evenly coated with flour and the egg mixture. Dipping Sauce Recipe 1/2 cup of mayo 2 tsp ketchup 1 1/2 TBSP horseradish 1/2 tsp each of paprika, salt, garlic powder, dried oregano 1/4 tsp each of black pepper and cayenne pepper Steps -Combine all ingredients and mix well.
