Ingredients 1 pack short ribs 1/2 onion 1/2 apple or Korean pear 5 cloves garlic 2 inches ginger 3 shiitake 2 carrots 2 cups Korean radish 1 cup of water Sauce 1 cup soy sauce 1/3 cup brown sugar 2 tbsp mirin 1 tbsp sesame oil 5 stalks of scallions Blended mixture Directions Soak your shiitake in 1 cup of hot water for 1-2 hrs. Soak your short ribs for 1-2 hrs to release the blood. Rinse and wash thoroughly. Fill a pot with 8 cups of water. Boil the short ribs for 10 mins to release the scum. Rinse and wash the ribs. Roughly cut the apples, onions and ginger. Blend together garlic, apple, ginger , onion. Assemble the sauce . Cut the carrots and radish into a slightly bigger piece than bite size. Add beef, sauce, and blended mixture. Stir to evenly distribute the sauce. Cook on medium low for 2-3 hours until the broth reduces and meat is tender.
