Replying to @Nick Patakos Sick. That one word says everything about how judgment gets projected onto others. We all have opinions. That is part of being human. But when opinions turn into judgments that get projected outward, they do more than just dismiss someone. They add shame. And shame is one of the biggest blocks to pleasure. This is not just about SEGG or intimacy. Out of the bedroom, we do the same thing. We judge how people live, where they live, what they wear, what their bodies look like, what work they do, how they show up in the world. We are constantly surrounded by shoulds. You should be this. You should look like that. You should live this way. Those shoulds are heavy. They keep us guarded, defensive, and on autopilot. They rob us of our ability to explore what we truly like and what actually feels good for us as individuals. The truth is that shame does not just sit in the mind. It lives in the body. It makes us tighten, brace, clench, and disconnect. Over time, that becomes habit. And the more we project judgment, the more we reinforce those habits in ourselves and in others. But here is the invitation. Instead of judging, pause. Get curious. Ask yourself, what am I actually feeling? Why does this trigger me? What would it mean if I allowed myself to explore what I actually like instead of what I have been told I should want? This is not a call out. It is a call in. A call in to notice how shame moves through us and how we pass it on. A call in to soften the grip of judgment so we can all make space for more openness, curiosity, and connection. Because pleasure is not a privilege. Pleasure is a responsibility. And when we stop projecting shame and start practicing compassion, we all get closer to living life led by pleasure. #theintimacydoc #relationships #pleasurequotient #menshealth
