This is Ahmad Manasra from Al-Quds, he was arrested at the age of 13 in October 2015 accused of killing a settler. He was shot and ran over by a car and assaulted by the settlers as a child and left to bleed on the ground while being called horrible names. Subjected to physical and mental interrogations in prison. Ahmad has grown up behind bars and now at the age of 21 said to be showing chronic and severe mental illness, early signs of schizophrenia and vision loss due to the blocking sunlight from entering his solitary confinement cell. His childhood has been spent enduring torture, medical negligence, abuse, deprivation, imprisonment and unlawful solitary confinement. “To Ahmad we say, we regret we failed to protect you ”. A statement made by so called United Nations Human Rights Office. Ahmad is one of over 4,500 Palestinians prisoners of which over 1,000 are held in “administrive detention”, indefinitely and without charge. This number continues to rise rapidly on daily basis. Although their courts found that Ahmad wasn’t involved in the incident. He has been placed in solitary confinement since October 2021. Originally sentenced for 12 years however has been reduced to 9 years and a half. I will never stop sharing and talking about these innocent souls including Ahmad’s improsement and torture.
