@kollektiv24d: Helmut Newton is one of the most influential fashion photographers. Born in Berlin, he trained as a photographer with Yva Else Simon in 1920. He achieved international fame in the 1970s after publishing his fashion and nude photography book White Women and fulfilling commissions for French Vogue. Newton himself says in his first book of photographs, White Women (1976), "I like to photograph women who you can see know something about life." With his pictures, he created a new, often provocative image of women. In doing so, he not only shaped fashion photography for all time. Newton inspired numerous colleagues as well as artists and worked for almost all renowned magazines and fashion labels, such as Mugler.
