@westonwillow: One day I will strip the paint from the doors, but not today. Here’s how I removed years worth of paint from my old hardware: - submerge the hardware in white vinegar - bring to a boil, then lower heat to a simmer - let simmer for 10-20 (depending on amount of paint) - remove from vinegar with tongs - using paint scrappers, toothpicks, and small wire brushes, remove the paint - place hardware back in the vinegar as needed to loosen paint It’s really that simple! Once I removed as much paint as I could I used a bristle dish cleaning brush and some soap to finish them off! **Disclaimer: This is only what worked for me.
