@chicaandjo: Summer is coming and that means sandal season! I made these plain, white sandals feom @Hobby Lobby more fun with the marbling technique from our book Craft with Nail Polish. With nail polish marbling, prep work is key. Tape off any areas you don't want to get polish on, then fill a tub with water deep enough to immerse your shoe. Remove the caps from your nail polish bottles so you can act fast because polish dries quickly. You'll need clear polish and 2-3 colors (don't use more or it might become muddy). Start with the clear and quickly drizzle it across the water surface. Do the exact same with your other colors, then use a stick to quickly swirl your colors together. The clear polish forms a skin on the water's surface and is is the secret to getting those distinct swirls. Dip your shoe slowly into the polish and remove by pulling straight up. Swirl your colors again and dip the other shoe.
