so the car brakes didn't engage? shouldn't the system realized that the car was still moving when it shouldn't be and engaged the emergency car brake

Sheave is worn down on top of having too much lube ! Also another reason they install rope gripper s . For unintended motion!

I doubt oil on the ropes otherwise you will see smoke comes around the sheave due to friction when it break traction

ein Freund und ich haben bei einem lostplace den Aufzug der noch funktionierte im Maschinenraum die Seile mit öl eingeschmiert. das war ein spaß 🤣🤣

14 seconds. elevators travel 350fpm as the high end. It’s traveling 6ft per second. 14x6 84ft. Low end = 42ft
