@homegrownkosher: The good news is that even with some of the bees leaving, our hive was still super strong and it was the perfect opportunity to split the hive (which will also keep them from swarming again) It must have been super crowded in there before the swarm! We were down a hive because of the beat attack last fall so we're hopeful that the worker bees successfully raise new queens and the queens are able to find drones to mate and return to the hives to begin laying eggs.
