She especially loves being outside where she can run, sniff, and explore. Once settled, she becomes a wonderful companion and even made a great running buddy for volunteers. Mocha can be timid at first and is easily startled by loud noises, so she needs a patient adopter, foster, or rescue willing to give her time to decompress and feel safe. She has successfully lived with another dog, is currently co-housed at the shelter, and may do well with a calm canine companion. Her owner surrendered her only because their family situation changed suddenly and they could no longer afford to care for four pets after a spouse was deported. The shelter environment is not allowing Mocha to show her best self.
