@erinmcgoff: 👩🏼⚖️When it comes to salary negotiation, I have a few ground rules: #1 Negotiate. Every time. It’s not weird, its normal! 🤷🏼♀️ 👏🏼 Companies will always offer you the lowest they can while still getting you to say yes to the role. People who negotiate their salary make more money throughout their life — point blank! It is very standard in US work culture to negotiate! Advocate for yourself! 👏🏼 #2 Practice, practice, practice! Follow this script and stick to your guns. 🫣 Avoid being the first one to put out a number, but it’s not the end of the world to give a well-calculated range. And you can always negotiate once you have the offer! 🗣️ #3 Embrace the SILENCE. A HUGE mistake people make is that they say “Can you share the salary range with me? Totally fine if not! I’m flexible!” NO. Embrace a little awkwardness. 🫠 Ask for what you want. 😅 This is especially hard for my people pleasers out there. 🤫 Remember what I always say: it’s NOT personal, its JUST professional. ✨👏🏼 ‼️ The recruiter/hiring manager/supervisor isn’t personally paying you. It’s just business 🤷🏼♀️ do your research, know your leverage & ask for what you’re worth! As always, you got this 👏🏼 #careeradvice #careertiktok #money #negotation #job #jobinterview #joboffer #salarynegotiation #Budgeting #careercoach #salarynegotiationtips #resume #college #internship #coverletter

I’m a recruiter, we do ask this question but that question isn’t for us to low ball, we’d rather not waste anyone’s time if comp doesn’t meet needs.

Companies should just post the range and mention it in the interview. It’s exhausting

On the job ad it says that I should write down my salary expectation in my application. How should I handle this? Thank you for your advices!

Can you do an example where there is a listed salary range but you want to try to negotiate a number above the listed range?

the problem I had with option 1 is that they often say "oh we cannot share this info, but tell me number and I tell you of it's within our range 😅
