It's not HELLAS. it's ELLAS.No H letter. ELL (ΕΛ in greek) means land. LAS (ΛΑΣ in greek) means light.Ellas (ΕΛΛΑΣ) means the land of light.

In Georgian the word for “Greek” is “Berdzeni (ბერძენი)”, which means wise. And for Greece we say- “Saberdzneti” - the land of the wise people.

For like 1821 Greeks called themselves Rhomaioi which means Romans. That’s how the Byzantines called themselves as well.
