@signed.drj: 1 in 4 women fail to attend their Cervical Screening appointments. That’s a lot of people ! 🥹 From my conversations with friends and family, a lot of people still don’t know what to expect during their smear appointments. So this is me going for my cervical cancer screening/smear test appointment. I thought by sharing this - you can see what it’s like and hopefully it encourages you. 🌟Here are 8 TIPS for your SMEAR 🌟 1. Wear what you are comfortable in. A dress or skirt is great as you don’t need to take it off. 2. Listen to some music or podcast to keep you calm before and during your appointment. 3. Arrive early for your appointment so you aren’t rushing. 4. Ask any questions you have, if you are nervous let the healthcare professional know. 5. There are different size speculums so please ask for a smaller one to start with. 6. If you are in pain or uncomfortable during the procedure - please let your healthcare professional know. 7. Ask them what to expect after the procedure and how long it takes for the results. 8. Text your friends and family to book in their smears too !!
