Anxiety made me lose myself. I felt like a stranger in my own body and i lived in constant fear. I would cry several times a day, in the bathroom, alone in a room at a friends house, in the counselors office,in the hallway walking to my next class, i felt humiliated and completely out of character. I was so tired of feeling scared all the time, i wanted to be dead so i wouldnt be scared anymore. When i relapsed, i knew that i had to change and take action to better myself. I started allowing myself to be happy, and in moments where i felt calm, i stopped letting fear ruin the moment. I let the sun warm my face instead of my tears, i let the wind pull through my hair instead of my unforgiving hands. I let myself enjoy living in the moment, instead of worrying about whats going to happen when the moment ends. Its true, good moments dont last forever. They are replaced with a new moment. A new moment with so much possibility. i cherish every moment where i feel the most alive, so that when i feel myself slipping away, i can remember, and feel alive again. Im forever grateful for my life. My beautiful mother, my amazing friends, and myself, for getting me through and helping me see every reason to stay. I thought i finally knew who i was, until i lost myself again. It was so scary losing me, but i came back, and that made it okay. Its okay to leave as long as you come back home.
