The suit vision is a lie. What they see on the TV is true. BUT, it’s because the silos are in another dome that is toxic. The outside world is fine.

In the book the suit has is VR to it to make them think it’s actually nice outside so they’ll clean the camera and keep up the “lie” that it’s not.
