@alyssa._.pooh: i was 10 week’s getting my NIPT test, i didnt know they we’re doing more tests ( this is my first baby) i didnt know all the possibilities there were while I was carrying my baby. All the things that could go horribly wrong. No one ever talks about that while being pregnant. The constant fear of losing your baby, the constant fear of Something going wrong. My doctor called me on the phone and I was so excited because I thought I was getting my gender results while I was at work , turns out he called me and told me I should think about terminating because My Baby came up positive for turner syndrome. He didn’t really tell me much about it other than one in 2,500 babies make it and that’s if they are not a stillborn and if they do make it then they are going to have serious physical deformities, but told me to look it up online and to see if I still wanted to carry. I then hung up and acted like I was fine and went outside and crawled in a ball, and cried. I acted like i was okay after I cleaned myself up and finished my day at work. I then had to see a genetic counselor, she did explain to me what it was, and what the outcomes were, and more testing. They wanted me to do a fluid testing where they had to stick a big needle through my stomach and my amniotic sac. I thought to myself if I was already at higher risk, then why would I let them stick a needle in my stomach through the sac and possibly pop my water or it could cause leaking leading to early labor. I told them no and as she was talking, I kept thinking to myself what if it was me who gave it to her, because I was still not understanding what it was because my mind was racing. The lady told me that that was highly unlikely because people who have turner syndrome, mosaic or classic turners, cannot have babies, and if they do, it’s very rare so she assured me it wasn’t me . I later on then had my aunt come with me to talk to her and insisted on more testing but for me, the lady finally agreed and tested me .
