@thinjen: I took this picture in the doctor's office in 2020 when I realized the vertical scar up my stomach was going to be 100% required to get all my loose skin. It was the 3rd doctor's opinion. I had so hoped to find a doctor that felt confident he could get it all without a fleur-de-lis cut (the vertical scar). This was the moment I realized I would have this scar and I needed to accept it. For 2 yrs I was convinced I needed to hide it with a tattoo. I still may get a tattoo but not because I'm insecure about my scar any more. I have honestly come to embrace it. Having these platforms has made me realize I don't have to hide my scars that instead they show my hard work and they are even, maybe, possibly... beautiful?! So comments like this are not disrespectful. They remind me and other people that we are human and humanity IS beautiful. Realness is brave.
