I worked for a fleet rental company and of the ~100 eco diesels we had, just over 50 of them had major failures and 35 of those were catastrophic.

I had a 2020 eco diesel and it was amazing. Maintenance was very expensive but towed regularly and no issues in 60k miles

A year after the vw removal from the USA the chev cruise came out with the same Fidel engine which is a vw 2.0 diesel. How odd but no one caught on.

I had a 2016 ecodiesel I bought brand new and that sucker developed a rod or main knock at 50k so it got a new crate motor.
