@fitnessendurance: Team USA SHOCKS Jamaica with Win in Women's 4x100 World TitleTeam USA shocked the world by winning the Women's 4x100 World Title against the favorites, Jamaica. The Women's 4x100m Relay Final took place at Hayward Field (Eugene, Oregon), featuring several world championship-winning nations. The competition began with Nigeria in lane eight, followed by Germany in lane seven, Great Britain and Northern Ireland in lane six, Jamaica in lane five, Spain in lane four, Italy in lane two, and Switzerland in lane one. Team USA ran exactly the same order as they did in the heats, except for one change, where Abby Steiner replaced Aaliyah Hobbs. Melissa Jefferson led off, followed by Steiner, Jenna Prandini, and Teahna Daniels (TT) Terry. The team was confident, given that they were defending home soil, and had won the last World Championship title in 2017 in London. The race began, and Melissa Jefferson started strong, making a great change to Abby Steiner, who continued the good work. Elaine Thompson-Herah ran Jamaica down the backstretch, but the USA was still in contention, along with Great Britain. Jenna Prandini ran a masterful third leg, but Great Britain's Daryll Neita struggled, falling out of contention. TT Terry received the baton in the final leg with Sharika Jackson, one of the fastest runners in history, chasing her down. Terry did an excellent job, focusing on the finish line and holding off Jackson to secure the win for Team USA. The Americans set a world-leading time of 41.45 seconds, the fastest time ever run on US soil, and the fifth-fastest time in history. Germany finished third, with Tatjana Pinto, Alexandra Burghardt, Jennifer Montag, and Lisa-Marie Kwayie, making it to the podium, while Jamaica finished second. TT Terry's brilliant anchor leg helped Team USA win their second consecutive world championship in the women's 4x100m relay.
