My trick to avoid getting pickpocketed in barce is wearing a small crossbody bag underneath my jacket. It worked like a charm.

Imo (living in bcn for years and growing up in Paris lol) a body strap is even worst bc you’re like hey look I have a phone, just hide it!!!

Make sure the body strap has a zipper and not button clasp. Still got pick pocketed with one.

I’m from Spain living in Brussels and I guess we are extra cautious here I’ve never had anybody pick pocket me always being careful

I’ve been there three times and dozens of in European countries where pickpockets run rampant. Wear a small crossbody purse, keep it closed and in front of you at all times.
