@cappybears: Cappy's Friday morning routine as a disabled cat -Cappy's POV Cappy has paresis, which is not to be confused with paralysis. I have used these two words interchangeably throughout the years, not realizing the weight of the distinction. Paresis is characterized as muscle weakness with a limited range of voluntary movement. Paralysis is characterized as complete loss of muscle function. Cappy has paresis, resulting from nerve damage. As a result, Cappy is unable to fully control his bladder. He can partially empty his bladder when he is relaxed and comfy (he doesn't recognize it is happening though) but he is unable to completely empty his bladder. Some days his fur and diaper liner are soaking in tinkles, while other days, I have to fully empty Cappy's bladder manually. I like to think his bladder has a mind of its own lol. Cappy is here to empower current and future pet owners, by advocating how fulfilling and enriching life with paresis can be. 💕🫶
