My Pilea peperomioides care ⬇️ First of all, this plant is 8 years old! I grew it from a small plant in a 2” pot. It takes TIME to get a plant this large. I’ve potted up a few times since then 🤪 but I don’t do it often, and honestly the last size up I went too big and it lost quite a few leaves. The curled leaves don’t bother me, it’s just a fact of life for this plant in my growing conditions. I’ve tried everything I can think of to stop it from happening over the years but it just does 🤷🏼‍♀️ Its in a soil mix of equal parts perlite, potting soil and orchid bark. Watering is key! These prefer to dry dry out between waterings in my experience, especially if they aren’t getting a lot of light. This one sits in a north window but get direct sun from the west in the afternoons for a couple hours. I have taken probably 50 baby plants from this mother plant over the years, but I’ve left about 3-4 in the pot to mature and help fill in bare areas. I use a stake to keep it upright as they’re actually crawlers by nature. Once it starts to lean you’ll want to add one before the stem grows in a bent shape, or you won’t be able to straighten it without it snapping. It drops leaves occasionally, it gets some leave with brown spots occasionally, it blooms occasionally. Honestly I just let it do what it wants and don’t stress! Do you own one? It’s definitely one of my favorite houseplants and one of the first I owned that really thrived! #plants #houseplants #bigplants
