The stop lights are so close to you to make sure you don’t creep forward and end up in bike/pedestrian crossing, it’s a safety feature

Well dutch traffic lights are smart and they count how much traffic is at each spot while the ones in america just run on a timer i think or used to

Going right on a red is very convenient for cars. However mighty unsafe for everyone else that is using the road. I’m very happy we don’t have it here

the intersections in the Netherlands are much more efficient. the lights are adaptive. notjustbikes has a real nice video's about it on yt
