I feel like if moss isn’t already growing somewhere then it probably isn’t going to grow there very well if you transplant some in.

I hope it lasts for you! But miss is natural indicators of soil and if it’s not naturally growing there it might die but best of luck!

I’d recommend “gathering moss” by Robin wall kimmerer to learn about moss ecology and why this moss lawn will almost certainly die within the year

It is very beautiful! Moss is a very complex organism and can be very sensitive- I suggest refraining from garhering wild moss in the future

This is not a sustainable practice. Moss grows extremely slowly and poaching for your yard is unnecessary.

So cute! But I’m curious.. cuz idk how moss works, but is it okay to take all that from the forest?.. i feel like the plants and animals need that

Seems like you could have stolen less moss from the forest by spreading it further apart and letting it fill in.

I love how people just assume you didn't do any research before up and changing your yard. People are so quick to judge 🙄

My grandparents always fed theirs with buttermilk and they had the most glorious mossy gardens

This is beautiful. In my 20s I lived in an old English house with a lawn that was mostly moss, nothing like the feeling of laying in it 🥰

I read you can put moss in a blender with milk, pour it out, and it will grow. Sounds crazy no idea if it works or not

Is it self sustainable or will you always have to use so much water?

So moss needs constant moisture so it will eventually die out if not watered daily

If you live in a place that supports moss then they will grow naturally where they’ll be able to survive otherwise the upkeep would be a nightmare

Why didn't you use the technique that they use for moss graffiti? Grow it instead of planting it
