Most have the strength to press their body at the top of the bar, but how do you get yourself up there in the first place. There are two very important training methods you need to train and achieve: 1. Pull-up volume. If you're a complete beginner, add pull-ups into your program utilising progressive overload (increasing volume week to week). You want to be able to achieve anywhere from 10 - 15 reps. You can do this by doing banded pull-ups initially and using the lat pull-down machine. Do both heavier sets from 6 to 8 reps, myo frib sets from 8 - 15 reps, and strength endurance sets of 15 +. 2. Developing the Rate of Force Production (Developing the speed in which the muscles contract). Speed + Strength = Power. So, if you're forcing yourself to move as fast as possible (fast and aggressive reps), you develop a powerful pull. Hence, giving yourself the speed strength to eventually make you powerful enough to pull yourself up and over the bar. This doesn't need to happen with every pulling session. However, at least a few sets a week focus on getting your pull-up standed to fast aggressive high chest to bars. Once you're there, you can start to attempt the Strict Bar Muscle-Up Good luck.
