I transformed this rabbit cage into a cozy brooder for my baby chicks 🐥 One of the secrets to making friends with your baby chicks is to have a door that opens on the side. Chicks are naturally scared of anything swooping down overhead (like hawks!) so when you try to pick them up from a tub-like setup, their instinct is to run away. Having a brooder with a door on the side is a gentler approach to greeting your baby chicks! Plus, the brooder is super easy to clean, thanks to the removable tray at the bottom. Another trick is to use Eaton pet and pasture hemp bedding, which is not only absorbent but also dust-free. That way, my chicks can breathe easy and stay healthy.
