Clarified butter has a wonderful rich flavor and the dill adds a fresh, grassy flavor. The lemon in the tin was rather subtle and I found the entire thing improved by adding some acid in the form of fresh lemon. Texture 🔟 Tinned seafood has this incredible ability to preserve the perfect cook on tricky proteins. The octopus was not rubbery or difficult to eat, it was a perfect texture— tender and bouncy. I also loved the texture of the butter, which was thick and creamy at room temperature or great for soaking into bread when melted. Price 9️⃣ For $17 this is pretty average among tinned octopus, and I think it’s worth trying at least once. Octopus is a hard-to-cook protein that I don’t often even see in restaurants. It’s a little pricey but totally offsets the dining out and ordering octopus.
