Queja #2 para el alcalde @John Vinueza, si no eres el John desliza. Me iré lentamente diciendo que la calle Nogales quedó pepa. 👍🏼 #riobamba #asfaltado #huecos #jhonvinueza

A Giant Crocodile Submarine Appeared in 1720. In 1720, spectators at Sultan Ahmed III’s royal festival witnessed something extraordinary. A giant crocodile-shaped machine designed by Ottoman dockyard architect İbrahim Efendi moved across the water—and then disappeared beneath the surface. Historical accounts say it remained submerged before appearing again roughly an hour later. Then its huge mouth opened. Five men emerged carrying trays of food. Later descriptions mention pipes supplying air to the men while they were underwater, although no complete blueprint survives to show exactly how every part of the machine worked. It was not history’s first submarine—Cornelis Drebbel had built a navigable underwater vessel about a century earlier—but the Ottoman crocodile remains one of the strangest early submersibles ever recorded. #OttomanHistory #SubmarineHistory #IbrahimEfendi #MuslimEngineers #HistoryTok
