I have a girlfriend in US. she says all their tips goes to the boss & he says he uses it to pay for an employee event 1x a year.

Living in the United States it blows me away that they ask for tip for things like a coffee shop. I only leave it for service like you are describing.

I’m mexican living in Mexico 57 years, we have always tipped people in restaurants, from 10 to 20%, we tip the guy that puts gasoline

Did you know that in US if your tips don’t equal min wage, they have to pay you min wage. So e1 stop and they will have to pay their staff.
